To maintain the sanctity and preservation of Porto Cathedral, visitors are kindly requested to adhere to a few important guidelines. Appropriate, respectful attire is expected inside the religious premises. Photography is generally allowed but should be done discreetly without the use of flash or tripods which might disturb other visitors or the reverence of the site. Eating or drinking inside the cathedral is prohibited to protect the historic interiors. Visitors are encouraged to keep noise levels low and to avoid touching fragile artworks or structures. Following these simple policies helps preserve Porto Cathedral’s legacy for future generations.

Porto Cathedral is accessible to a wide range of visitors, including those with mobility challenges. While the historic nature of the site means some areas have steps and uneven surfaces, efforts have been made to provide accessible routes where possible. The main entrance and key sections of the cathedral, such as the cloisters, offer relatively easy access. Public transportation options nearby accommodate travelers with reduced mobility, and wheelchairs may be permitted upon request. Visitors with specific needs are advised to plan ahead to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience within this historic venue.
